Referral Relations Specialist

Position Description and Core Competency Outline

Referral Relations Specialists will represent the Recovery Ways Family of companies, managing a defined territory and contributing to the industry with your expertise in healthcare related sales and consultative selling.

Referral Relations Specialists are responsible for connecting and building trust within their respective healthcare communities as reliable resources for behavioral health services.   An outreach specialist will collaborate with other professionals in the mental health and addictions community and through liaising with family members to find individualized levels of care within their local, regional and national system of providers.  These Referral Relations specialists collaborate with their client’s treatment team internally and externally to provide comprehensive care coordination including regular communications; while acting as an internal liaison to foster and enhance the experience and outcomes for their clients.  The ideal outreach specialist will work collaboratively with the Utah Case Management team, to create the optimal referrals for each Recovery Ways client, and building referring partners in their territory.

An ideal candidate will research, uncover and initiate new professional prospects and business opportunities and have a passion for marketing with the goal of increasing patient admissions and expanding market share.

The Referral Relations Specialist will also act as a Brand Ambassador for the Recovery Ways family of programs, building our presence, awareness and reputation in their territory.
The successful candidate will be responsible for strategically developing and executing quarterly and annual sales objectives for the designated territory.

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree with experience in consultative sales in behavioral healthcare, substance abuse, or related field is preferred.
• Self-motivation, organization and a passion to help are a must. A  proven history of top ranking in past positions with a highly energetic and focused sales personality.
• Experience in finding prospective new referents, soliciting new business and closing on sales opportunities.
• Proven track record of cold calling, outbound sales and CRM records management is required.

  • Must be proficient at bedside manners, infection control, confidentiality, medical teamwork, and communication.
  • Demonstrates professional presentation with approach and boundaries. This position has a high level of autonomy and candidate should feel confident in being a self-starter and making quick judgement calls when necessary.

6.  Clinical Admissions Coordinator/Mobile Assessor

Recovery Ways is hiring a Clinical Admissions Coordinator/Mobile Assessor (remote employment possible) to join the admissions team and the Clinical Director of Admissions.  This clinician will review clinical information for all referrals, approve admissions, complete comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments as needed for clinically complex referrals or insurance precertification requirements.

Objectives:

  • Free service to the community to increase visibility
  • Marketing tool to use with strategic accounts including: FADAP, United Machinists, Railroads, Chrysler, FAA
  • Complete assessments for all Patient’s whose insurance requires precertification prior to admission
  • Complete assessments for Patient’s who present a high risk of insurance denial to obtain auth.
  • In depth look at clinically complex cases to ensure they are an appropriate fit for RW and are not denied based on reported diagnosis but rather symptoms of presenting problems.
  • Assessment to determine appropriate level of care
  • Decrease AMA rates by exploring risk factors
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and across departments.

Required Education and Experience

  • Must be able to legally provide clinical therapy in the state of Utah or eligible to obtain licensure in the state of Utah. (Supervision may be provider for full licensure)
  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or similar.
  • One year of experience in behavior health care.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Independent clinical licensure
  • Three years in behavioral health care
  • A passion for comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments
  • Understand of ASAM criteria and insurance medical necessity

Additional Eligibility Qualifications 

  • Understanding of utilization review and clinical documentation
