Communication with Family & Friends

We also encourage people to call the treatment team if they have questions and allow patients the opportunity to call loved ones during free time.

Our staff is committed to an integrated quality of care that is comprehensive, person-centered and recovery-focused. At Recovery Ways our medical team is directed by a psychiatrist who has expertise in addiction, as well as mental health illnesses such as depression, anxiety, and bi-polar disorder. Our lead therapists are masters level clinicians with experience working with substance abuse and other addictions. All clinical staff are licensed by the State of Utah and are in good standing.
Post Treatment Support
After completing our residential program, support is available for continued recovery. Recovery Ways has a 60 to 90 day Intensive Outpatient Program that meets 3 times a week. Our Aftercare program meets once a week. Alumni come to check in with each other, learn about relapse prevention, and receive support. All of these programs are clinically proven to help people maintain and succeed in their addiction-free lifestyle. We also offer an active alumni program. Building a strong sober network is vital after treatment. Recovery Way’s alumni program makes building a supportive recovery community easy and fun with regular events and outings.
Our groups are centered around the concept of healing the mind, body, and spirit. They are designed to provide patients with the information and skills needed to stay sober after treatment. This includes educational groups, process groups, and involvement in meetings. Our addiction treatment program includes a minimum of two private counseling sessions per week and a family/couples session once a week. We also believe that a person’s spirituality is an integral part of their well-being and success in rehab. We embrace all religions and include spirituality as a part of each patient’s treatment. We believe a patient must have a spiritual awakening to be successful in recovery. We accommodate patients, as much as possible, to participate in their religious practices. As a supplement to a patient’s spiritual beliefs, a 12-Step model along with other programs of recovery are used as a foundation for our program.
Personalized & Appropriate Treatment
Recovery Ways programming is based on ASAM recommended treatment standards for a residential level of care. ASAM is The American Society of Addiction Medicine who advocate and promote appropriate roles and guidelines for treating those with addiction. Our group content is founded on clinical research, effective for the treatment of alcoholism, drug abuse and other substance abuse and addiction issues.
Recovery Ways therapies are based on, but not limited to, the Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing therapeutic models. Our staff psychiatrist is available to address both dual diagnosis and other mental health issues. Our varying levels of addiction treatment address patient care from start to finish: residential (or inpatient drug rehab), PHP, sober living as well as intensive outpatient. Our programs equip patients with the tools necessary to lead a healthy life free of substance abuse.
Unique Treatment Programs
Recovery Ways offers traditional and effective methods of treating addiction and substance abuse issues. We also offer unique forms of treatment such as occupational therapy, sensory integration, sober recreation therapy, and place an emphasis on fitness and healthy living.
Individuals who have suffered long-term with substance abuse may have missed out on acquiring life skills that most of us may take for granted. Our occupational therapy program gives our patients the opportunity to gain work and life experience to help them live fuller, richer lives in recovery.
Two of our Salt Lake City locations are equipped with sensory rooms. These rooms invite addicts to engage in activities that help them to feel good and to focus on strengths, interests, and personal self-care through the use of sensory input.
Sober Recreation Therapy
Being located in Utah, Recovery Ways takes full advantage of the surrounding natural beauty and incorporates it into our addiction treatment model. We offer a unique recreation therapy that includes frequent gym visits, emphasis on physical fitness and outdoor activities, and most importantly learning new ways to have fun outside of treatment without the inclusion of drugs or alcohol.
