Comprehensive Addiction Treatment in Salt Lake City
Overcoming addiction is one of the bravest things you will ever do, and you do not have to do it alone. At Recovery Ways, we understand that substance use is rarely just about the substanceâit is often a deeply rooted response to trauma, stress, or underlying mental health challenges.
Our compassionate clinical team provides a complete continuum of careâfrom medically supervised detox to flexible outpatient programsâdesigned to heal the whole person. Whether you are taking your very first step toward sobriety or seeking support after a relapse, we are here to provide the evidence-based tools and lifelong community you need to reclaim your life.
Specialized Care for All Forms of Addiction
Addiction affects everyone differently. Our multidisciplinary team is highly experienced in treating a wide spectrum of substance use disorders, including:
Alcohol Addiction
Safe withdrawal management, medical detox, and comprehensive long-term relapse prevention strategies.
Opioid Addiction
Evidence-based care for painkillers, heroin, and fentanyl, including Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) when appropriate.
Prescription Drugs
Specialized treatment for benzodiazepine and stimulant dependencies, carefully tapering and rebuilding brain chemistry.
Cocaine & Methamphetamines
Targeted behavioral therapies to manage severe cravings, identify triggers, and support lasting behavioral change.
Healing the Mind and Body: Dual-Diagnosis Treatment
Substance use and mental health are deeply connected. Many individuals turn to drugs or alcohol to self-medicate the painful symptoms of depression, severe anxiety, bipolar disorder, or trauma.
At Recovery Ways, we don’t just treat the addiction; we treat the root cause. Through our specialized dual-diagnosis programming, our psychiatric and addiction specialists work together to treat your mental health and substance use simultaneously. By untangling these intertwined conditions, we provide a solid, sustainable foundation for lasting recovery.

A Complete Continuum of Care Tailored to You
Healing from addiction is not a one-size-fits-all process. Following a thorough, professional assessment, our clinical team will work with you to determine the exact level of support you need at one of our premier Salt Lake City facilities.
Medical Detoxification
The first step in recovery is safely clearing the substances from your body. Our medically supervised detox program provides 24/7 care, utilizing targeted medications and compassionate support to manage withdrawal symptoms comfortably and safely.
Residential Treatment
For those needing an immersive, highly structured healing environment, our residential treatment program offers round-the-clock support. Step away from daily triggers to participate in intensive individual and group counseling, uncover the psychological triggers of your addiction, and build a strong foundation for sobriety.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Our PHP offers robust, intensive day treatment without the need for an overnight stay. Clients attend comprehensive, evidence-based therapy during the day and return home or to a sober living environment in the evenings, allowing them to practice their new coping skills in real time.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Designed to help you seamlessly transition back into daily life, our IOP provides flexible clinical support while you maintain your career, education, or family responsibilities. Through weekly group and individual sessions, you will strengthen your relapse prevention skills and solidify your independence.
Alumni & Post-Treatment Support
True recovery continues long after formal treatment ends. Our Alumni Program bridges the gap between rehab and daily life by providing ongoing peer support, weekly group meetings, and sober community events. When you join Recovery Ways, you gain a supportive family for life.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Do I need medical detox before starting rehab?
Not everyone requires medical detox, but for substances like alcohol, opioids, and benzodiazepines, supervised detox is often medically necessary to safely manage dangerous withdrawal symptoms. Our admissions team will complete a full clinical assessment to determine if detox is your safest first step.
-
How long does addiction treatment take?
Because addiction affects everyone differently, there is no set timeline for recovery. Treatment length depends on the severity of the substance use, co-occurring mental health conditions, and your progress through our continuum of care. Programs can range from a few weeks in residential care to several months in outpatient support.
-
Will I have to stay overnight?
No, overnight stays are only required for our Detox and Residential programs. If you have a supportive home environment, you may be best suited for our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) or Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), which provide intensive therapy during the day while allowing you to return home at night.
