Therapy That Fits Your Needs

Counseling isn’t one-size-fits-all, so the Recovery Ways team specializes in a wide range of therapies. We’ll collaborate with you to figure out which modalities best work for you. Some of the types of counseling in Salt Lake City, Utah we offer include:

Our Therapeutic Settings

Individual Therapy

One-on-one therapy sessions offer a comfortable space for you to work towards personal goals and explore sensitive topics with a professional counselor. Your provider will offer expert guidance that helps you take steps towards meeting your goals, develop important life skills, and find ways to boost your overall well-being.

Group Counseling

We hold group therapy sessions in all of our programs and have found they’re highly beneficial for clients. Meeting with likeminded peers to listen to both shared and diverse experiences allows clients to heal and develop strong interpersonal skills that will serve them long-term.

What to Expect in a Counseling Session

Our Salt Lake City therapists go above and beyond to make their sessions as healing and collaborative as possible. You’ll be encouraged to share past experiences based on your comfort level, discuss what has been on your mind, and rewrite patterns that may be holding you back from reaching your goals. You’ll never be judged or made to feel uncomfortable, as our team is highly compassionate and trained to ensure you feel safe throughout each visit.

In a typical therapy session, you may go through several exercises that have been proven to manage specific symptoms or overall well-being. These might include guided meditations, worksheets, education, and goal setting. You may also be asked to complete “homework” to help you practice your new skills outside of counseling.

“Recovery Ways is absolutely amazing. All of my teachers were excellent, not only did they care but they took the time to get to know me as an individual and come up with solutions that worked for me. I felt very comfortable. Which made it very easy to open up and discuss things I usually don’t.” – Courtnee
